THUNDER BAY – Conflix, the Confederation College Film Production Program, will be holding its annual casting call on Sept. 19.
“I volunteer for student films because they're fun! There is so much that goes into making a film, and so many people work incredibly hard to bring a film to life - it truly is the magic of cinema," said Chris Jason, a long-time Conflix actor.
“Plus, I get to meet and interact with students, and it's a great learning experience for me as an actor . . . Overall, it's a great experience - I highly recommend it!”
The in-person event will be held outside the Balmoral Street entrance at Confederation College and anyone interested is invited to attend anytime between 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Masks are required for those wishing to attend.
The program invites people to “be part of the legacy” with people who have gone on to star in films and television like Marie Avgeropoulos (The 100, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief) and Jen Pogue (Endings/ Odd Squad).
People who attend the casting call can also choose to be included when local filmmakers and outside productions are casting as well.
If anyone who is interested is unable to attend, visit www.conflix.com/casting to submit instead.
Organizers would also like to include that there is no acting experience necessary, and all ages and genders are welcome.
