A Kakabeka Falls man who pleaded guilty to careless driving following a fatal 2008 crash has been fined $240.
Brian Paquette learned his fate in a Provincial Offences courtroom Friday. The 35-year-old will not face probation nor will he lose his licence as a result of the crash.
The crash took place in July 2008. Evelyn Miller, 18, died after a head-on collision with another vehicle on Highway 11/17 near Vibert Road.
Police originally believed that Miller had crossed the centre line of the Highway. Before the investigation concluded, OPP officers concluded that the other driver, Brian Paquette, had drifted into Miller’s lane.
