THUNDER BAY – A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared in a wing of the St. Joseph’s Hospital on Algoma Street.
The outbreak impacts the hospital’s 2 East - Mental Health Rehabilitation wing, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported Friday.
The agency said it had initiated an assessment of the situation.
The health unit was monitoring seven outbreaks of COVID-19 in vulnerable settings as of Friday.
In addition to St. Joseph’s Hospital, that included Chartwell’s Arundel retirement home, Hogarth Riverview Manor, Pioneer Ridge, the Walford Retirement Home, the Bethammi Nursing Home, and the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital.
