THUNDER BAY – A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared in a third area of the Hogarth Riverview Manor long-term care home in Thunder Bay.

The newest outbreak affects the home’s Marigold (5N) area, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit said in a statement, which did not disclose further details.

The health unit previously declared COVID-19 outbreaks in the home’s 4 North area on April 15, and in the 1 North area on April 19.

A representative for St. Joseph’s Care Group, which operates Hogarth Riverview Manor, said the organization does not share details of outbreaks in its facilities to protect personal health information. The policy stands in contrast with other local long-term care home operators, which have shared information on the extent and impact of COVID-19 pandemics with TBnewswatch in the past.
