THUNDER BAY – Outbreaks of COVID-19 have been declared over at the Bethammi Nursing Home and Hogarth Riverview Manor long-term care home.

That left just one active outbreak in a vulnerable setting as of Tuesday, according to the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.

That remaining outbreak involved the Pioneer Ridge long-term care home, where an outbreak was declared in the Plaza 1 area on May 30.

The number of outbreaks tracked by the health unit in vulnerable settings like hospitals and long-term care homes has been on the decline.

The seven-day average for the number of outbreaks in vulnerable settings remained above 10 for most of May. The figure had fallen to 3.6 by June 12.
