The active caseload is now the lowest since Nov. 12.

THUNDER BAY — COVID-19 has claimed the life of another resident of the Thunder Bay district.

The district health unit announced the death of the virus's 63rd victim on Tuesday.

The TBDHU also reported confirmation of one additional COVID-19 case, which resulted from travel outside Northwestern Ontario.

Two previously diagnosed cases have been resolved, bringing the current active caseload in the district down to 25.

The decrease is due partly to the fact that two cases previously reported by the TBDHU have been removed from the district health count after provincial data quality checks resulted in a revision.

The last date the caseload was this low was on Nov. 12.

According to the health unit, there are currently only two district residents in hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19.
