THUNDER BAY — There's a COVID-19 outbreak at another Thunder Bay nursing home.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Hogarth Riverview Manor have declared an outbreak on 5N Marigold at the Lillie Street long-term care home.

Details were not provided.

Admissions, transfers, discharges and social activities have been cancelled on this unit only until further notice.

Visitors are restricted to family members and caregivers only.

Other current institutional outbreaks in Thunder Bay include those at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (3A), Southbridge Lakehead LTC (facility-wide), Southbridge Pinewood (Sandpiper Unit), and St. Joseph's Hospital (5 North).

TBDHU said it urges people to stay at home and refrain from visiting hospitals, long-term care facilities and retirement homes when feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections to the most vulnerable.
