THUNDER BAY — An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at a Thunder Bay nursing home.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Southbridge Care Homes announced an outbreak Monday at Southbridge Pinewood on Walsh St. E.
The cases are in the Kingfisher Home Area of the 128-bed long-term care facility.
On its website, Southbridge reported that one resident and one staff member have tested positive.
Both individuals were fully vaccinated.
The staff member is currently isolating at home.
TBDHU said it has initiated a thorough assessment of the situation, and that measures to limit the outbreak will be taken as required.
