THUNDER BAY -- Crews battled a major fire on Thunder Bay's waterfront in the north end of the city Monday evening.
Numerous pumpers were deployed to a fire in the area of the former Great West Timber site located off Marina Park Drive, said Thunder Bay Fire Rescue.

No injuries were reported from the incident, said a Superior North EMS representative Monday night.
Police blocked off a large perimeter around the fire, which drew dozens of people who observed large flames and plumes of smoke from Marina Park and nearby streets.
The fire is reported to have started around 7 p.m. and continued burning well into the night.
The former Great West Timber property was the site of another large fire in 2015.
