Date set for annual Parade of Lights

This year's Parade of Lights event will take place Saturday Dec. 3 through the Intercity area.

THUNDER BAY -- Organizers of the annual Parade of Lights announced details Tuesday about this year's event.

This year is the 18th annual parade organized by the Thunder Bay Police Association.

It will take place on Saturday, December 3rd, starting at 7 p.m.

Last year, more than 75 trucks rolled through the Intercity area, turning the darkness into a dazzling array of festive lights.

More than $25,000 was raised, and those proceeds were split between the Thunder Bay branches of Autism Ontario, Special Olympics Ontario, the Therapeutic Riding Association and the George Jeffery Children's Centre.

Businesses that are not taking part in the parade can still donate to those four charities.

This year's Parade Marshall will be Hayden Bopp, who is a client at George Jeffrey's.
