THUNDER BAY - A suspect charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection to an incident last week that left one woman dead is hoping to set a date for a bail hearing.
Defence counsel for Brianna Netemegesic, 20, who is charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault said in a Thunder Bay courtroom on Thursday that they are in a position to set a date for a bail plan for Netemegesic.
Netemegesic was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, March 3, after police responded to an incident in the 100-block of Picton Avenue.
When officers responded, they located two female victims outside near the street. Both victims were transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where one woman died from her injuries.
Amy Grann who appeared as agent for Netemegesic’s lawyer, Kevin Matthews, requested an adjournment as lawyers work on a bail plan for Netemegesic who appeared by video.
Netemegesic is expected to return to court later this month.
