NORTH BAY – Nicolas DeGrazia has put the Lakehead Thunderwolves back in the win column.
The second-year forward scored the game-winner midway through the second period on Saturday night, delivering a 2-1 road win over the host Nipissing Lakers.
DeGrazia’s fourth of the season came on the power play, the second of two goals the visitors scored with the man advantage.
Joe Mack scored the other, 4:33 into the contest.
Nipissing’s Kyle Foreman tied things up 10 minutes later, beating Carson Cherepak at 14:21 of the first.
Cherepak stopped 21 of 22 shots, his Nipissing counterpart Zach Roy good on 28 of 30 LU shots.
Lakehead improved to 4-3-1 with the win, and sit in sixth place in the OUA West. Nipissing dropped to 2-7-1 and stayed alone in last place in the 10-team division.
It was the first of three straight games the two teams will play.
The Lakers will travel to Thunder Bay next weekend for a pair at Fort William Gardens on Friday and Saturday night.
