THUNDER BAY - Construction has still not begun on the waterfront Delta Hotel.
Officials with the ReSolve Group said if things continue on track construction could begin as soon as next month.
The hotel project was first announced in 2012 and scheduled to open this spring, but construction was continuously put off for various reasons.
ReSolve Group president Gisele MacDonald said after Delta Hotels and Resorts was purchased by Marriott International last year, it was recommended the developers make a number of changes to the hotel design.
ReSolve Group is waiting for a building permit from the city and said it should be issued by the end of this month.
This will allow them to begin construction immediately and complete the project by the end of next year.
