THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a call for service on the city's north side.

When crews arrived at the Logan Avenue home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m., they discovered smoke and flames.

One occupant was already out of the building, but it had been reported that a dog was still inside.

The fire was knocked down by firefighters, and the dog was rescued from the building.

Suffering from smoke inhalation, the canine was given oxygen by firefighters and started to perk up.

The homeowner suffered light smoke inhalation and was treated by EMS at the scene.

No one was sent to hospital as a result of the fire.
