THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Police say they are still looking for the driver of a stolen pickup truck who evaded apprehension during a police pursuit earlier this week.
The incident occurred Monday evening, when police were tipped off about a vehicle being driven along Pole Line Road toward Highway 17 and Vibert Road.
According to a police spokesperson, officers observed the stolen pickup being driven on Arthur Street before the driver turned onto Vanguard Avenue.
They then activated their emergency lights and began a pursuit.
Police tried to box the truck in at the end of Vanguard Avenue, but the driver sped between two police vehicles and continued southbound toward Arthur Street.
The officers then discontinued their pursuit due to concerns for public safety.
No arrests have been made, but the spokesperson said the investigation continues.
