Dry cleaner now fully local for customers' needs

The manager explained the industrial machines can easily handle multiple and large, heavy items.

THUNDER BAY — A city dry cleaning business can now service customers' needs locally.

Gogul Nathan, a manager at Quality Cleaners, said for the last year and a half clothing dropped off at Quality Cleaners has been sent to Sault Ste. Marie.

"To address the immediate concerns of our customers, what we did was we opened up as a depot. We sent our items, all of our garments, down to Sault Ste. Marie, where we have the latest and greatest technology and world-class training from three generations."

Nathan explained that the industrial machines can easily handle multiple and large, heavy items.

"We have 30-pound, 60-pound and 90-pound wet cleaning and washing machines.

"Unlike a typical household washer, which can only hold about 20 pounds, we can go all the way up to 90 pounds. So your big duvets, your blankets, can go through the full immersion for the cleaning cycle and get done properly over there."

Nathan said they use a green product that is environmentally friendly and non-carcinogenic.

"A lot of people love bringing in their dress shirts because when it comes off our forms . . . it has that nice finish that you can't get from typical ironing."
