Elder abuse investigation results in two arrests

Police believe that criminal activity took place between to February 2022 and this April.

THUNDER BAY  — A lengthy police investigation has led to two local residents facing charges relating to elder abuse.

In a Thursday news release, the Thunder Bay Police Service said the pair were arrested for alleged criminal activity that took place between February 2022 and April of this year against a female victim. 

Police said the crimes against seniors investigator began the investigation this April.

A 45-year-old man and 41-year-old woman face multiple charges, including failing to provide necessities of life, forcible confinement assault and fraud over $5,000. 

Both of the accused have been released from custody have future court dates scheduled.
