THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported eleven new COVID-19 cases Tuesday.
There was no change in hospitalizations, meaning that three people remain in hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19.
No patient is in the ICU.
With 10 previous cases having been resolved in the previous 24 hours, the active case count in the district rose by one, reaching 153.
April 5, 2021 is the most recent date on which there were more active cases in the Thunder Bay district.
Among the new cases, 10 are in the city or immediate surrounding area while one is in a district community.
Six are the result of close contact, one is due to travel outside Northwestern Ontario, and four cases are under investigation.
In the western part of the region, the Northwestern Health Unit reported 30 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday.
These included 14 in the Kenora area, eight in the Sioux Lookout area, six in the Dryden area and two in the Red Lake area.
The active case count within the NWHU's jurisdiction climbed to 197, an increase of 25 from Monday.
Four people are in hospital, two fewer than on Monday.
