KINGSTON, Ont. – The Lakehead Thunderwolves got things started right on the road.

Luca Faciano scored twice and added a helper on Thursday night and Justin Paul netted his third goal in three games to start the 2024-25 campaign, and added a pair of assists, leading LU to a 5-2 win over the host RMC Paladins.

Nathan Fox scored both goals for RMC.

The win, Lakehead’s second straight, upped the Thunderwolves record to 2-1-0 and into a tie for top spot in the OUA West with the Toronto Varsity Blues. RMC slipped below .500 to 1-2-0 with the loss.

Christian Cicigoi stopped 18 of 20 shots to earn the win between the pipes. Michael Davis took the loss, despite making 46 saves.

Dylan Massie and Spencer Blackwell, into the empty net, also scored for the Thunderwolves, who take on Queen’s on Friday night.

LU returns home next weekend for a Saturday night date with the Carleton Ravens.
