THUNDER BAY — An outbreak of COVID-19 at a Thunder Bay nursing home has grown.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Southbridge Care Homes announced Wednesday that the outbreak declared previously in the Cheshire and Renaissance units at the Southbridge Roseview long-term care facility on Shuniah Street is now considered facility-wide.
According to information published by Southbridge, seven residents in five different units of the 157-bed nursing home have tested positive for COVID-19.
The company said all the affected residents are fully vaccinated against the virus.
Elsewhere in Thunder Bay, the TBDHU and St. Joseph's Care Group announced that a COVID outbreak previously declared in Hogarth Riverview Manor's 7 South unit (Violet resident home area) has now been expanded to include 7 North (Trillium resident home area).
The health unit reported that an outbreak of the virus at the Walford retirement residence on Pine Street is now over.
