Federal offender wanted for breach of release conditions

A man convicted of armed robbery and assault could be in Northwestern Ontario.

THUNDER BAY — Authorities are asking the public to keep an eye out for a federal offender known to frequent Thunder Bay, Kenora and Timmins.

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for the arrest of Brandon Roy, 30, for an alleged breach of the conditions of his statutory release.

Most federal offenders are eligible for statutory release after serving two-thirds of their fixed-length sentence, but must abide by conditions including reporting to a parole officer.

Roy was serving a two-year sentence for multiple offences including armed robbery, assault, five counts of theft, and failure to attend court.

He is described as Indigenous, six feet in height, weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
