Federal offender wanted for parole violation

THUNDER BAY — Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a federal offender wanted for breaching the terms of his statutory release from prison.

John Francis Curtin, 69, has been serving a five-year sentence for two counts of armed robbery, possession of a weapon or imitation weapon, and multiple counts of theft, breaking and entering, and other offences.

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad, a multi-agency team that locates and apprehends parolees unlawfully at large in Ontario, reported Monday that Curtin is known to frequent a number of cities including Thunder Bay and Winnipeg.

He is Caucasian, 5'10" tall, weighs 150 pounds and has long grey/brown hair and hazel eyes.

Curtin usually wears a grey beard, and has a noticeable scar on his nose.
