IGNACE, Ont. – Canadian Pacific Railway is investigating a major train derailment west of Ignace, Ont.
The town’s mayor on Wednesday confirmed about 50 grain cars left the tracks on Monday evening.
Penny Lucas said railway officials contacted her with the details of the crash and told her no one was hurt in the incident.
CP crews worked to remove the cars and debris, repair the tracks and open the line for train traffic.
The line reopened on Tuesday night.
