RED LAKE -- The Vern Ray era may be temporary, but it's working out just fine for the Kam River Fighting Walleye.

The Walleye scored three times in the first period on Saturday night and added three unanswered goals in the third and went on to double up the host Red Lake Miners to complete a weekend sweep on the road.

Jett Mintenko had a pair of tallies for the visitors, with singles going to Cayden Adams, Kaden Goodwin, Tie Schumacher and Evan Lachimea.

It was the second straight win for Kam River, who improved to 7-5-0 with the triumph.

Corbyn Demchuck, Kayne Pawlick and Quinn Szpak replied for the Miners (5-7-0).

Ashton Sadauskas made 30 saves to pick up the win between the pipes for Kam River. Koen Webber took the loss, good on 35 of 41 Kam River shots.

Thunder Bay 5, Dryden 4 (OT): Marcellus Francis completed his hat trick with 2:39 to go in regulation and Alex Remenda scored the game-winner, helping erase the sting of Friday's overtime loss to the host Ice Dogs. Dryden opened a 3-0 lead after one period, thanks to goals by Elias Eisenbarth, Emmanuel Nkombou and McLaren Paulsen, who netted his 10th of the season. Francis and Beau Helmeczi cut the Ice Dogs lead to 3-2 through 40 minutes, with Francis tying things up a 5:37 of the third. Carson Devine gave Dryden a 4-3 lead at the 9:32 mark of the third. Francis has six goals in four games and is riding a four-game point streak. The win pulls the North Stars (10-2-1) even with Dryden atop the SIJHL standings, six points up on third-place Sioux Lookout.

Sioux Lookout 7, Ironwood 1: Alex Lucas scored twice and Matthew Spencer Dahls stopped 23 of 24 shots to lead the Bombers (7-4-1) back to the win column for a third straight contest. Cedrik Robidoux had a goal and two assists for the Bombers. Jack Croghan had the lone goal for the Lumberjacks (2-10-1).
