THUNDER BAY – A single-story structural fire was quickly brought under control and damage was limited to the bedroom, bathroom and hallway.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, in a release issued on Tuesday, said they were called to a Syndicate Avenue North residence, where they encountered smoke emitting from all opening on the main floor and flames exiting the back of the structure through a bedroom window.

Water was applied to the building’s exterior at first, then crews made their way inside and attacked the fire from within.

There was some damage into the attic as a result of the fire, which occurred just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

No occupants were home at the time the fire broke out.
