THUNDER BAY — A residence on Highway 17 in the Kaministiquia area west of the city has been destroyed by fire.
No one was inside at the time, and no injuries were reported in the incident which occurred early Tuesday afternoon.
Members of the Kaministiquia Volunteer Fire Department responded to the alarm, and were assisted by firefighters from Shebandowan.
The single-storey home was located near the highway intersection with Finmark Road.
Firefighters were on the scene putting out hotspots until about 8 p.m.
No information has been released about the possible cause of the fire, but an OPP spokesperson said Wednesday it is still under investigation.
