THUNDER BAY -- Everyone is safe after a small fire forced the evacuation of a local daycare Monday.
Nearly 40 children plus staff had to be taken out of Schoolhouse Playcare Centre on Grey Street early Monday afternoon after a small fire in the electrical room.
The fire caused minor damage and was put out by fire crews quickly but the building remained closed until repairs were done.
"Everybody's safe, no injuries to report" Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Capt. Darren Smallwood said.
Children and staff waited at nearby Pinewood Court where parents were called.
