There were no injuries in an early morning fire that caused extensive damage to an unoccupied Rowand Street home.
Smoke and flames were visible when fire crews arrived on the scene just after midnight Thursday and it took several hours to bring the blaze under control.
An aerial unit also had to be brought in to prevent the spread of the flames to an adjacent house and apartment unit.
Residents of those buildings had to be evacuated and a city bus was dispatched to the scene so they could stay warm.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
