THUNDER BAY -- Firefighters were forced to shut down a street as they battled a garage fire on the city's North side Thursday afternoon.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue firefighters had Algonquin Avenue blocked off between Phyllis Street and Sydney Street as a fire gutted the garage.
The intensity of the flames led to a nearby garage sustaining damage.
Flames could be seen through the roof as thick black smoke was seen from Red River Road.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
