THUNDER BAY — Firefighters performed a rescue at a residential fire on Thunder Bay's north side Monday morning.
Crews responded to a structural fire on County Boulevard near daybreak.
They encountered smoke, and were told one person was still unaccounted for inside the residence.
According to Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, firefighters who entered the building to rescue the individual found a mattress on fire.
When Superior North EMS paramedics arrived, the person was taken to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
