City fire officials are calling two south-side fires suspicious.

Last Friday Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to fires at Frankie and Johnny's Auto Body Ltd. on Vickers Street and Almada Upholstery on May Street.

No one was injured in either blaze, but both businesses suffered major fire damage.

Fire prevention captain Eric Nordlund said the on-site investigations into both fires are complete and there is no reason to believe the incidents are related.

Both incidents are being investigated by Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, the Office of the Fire Marshal and Thunder Bay Police Service.
