TORONTO — Negotiators for the province's public colleges and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union will sit down again with a provincial mediator in early January.

The parties concluded the first round of non-binding mediation last weekend.

That process is scheduled to resume on Jan. 6, 2025.

Mediator William Kaplan has instructed both sides to keep the details of the talks confidential.

The union and the College Employer Council previously agreed any job action would be put on hold as long as mediation continued.

Faculty members at Confederation College and Ontario's other 23 public colleges gave the OPSEU bargaining team a strike mandate in October.
