SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. — Health officials confirm that five new cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed among residents of Kasabonika Lake First Nation, about 600 kilometres north of Thunder Bay.

The Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority made the announcement on Thursday.

The authority was first notified on Tuesday that one individual had tested positive within the community.

Since then, four additional cases were diagnosed, all within the social bubble of the same individual.

The authority reported that all the patients are doing well, and are currently self-isolating.

A health team is working with community health staff to support the management of the cases.
