THUNDER BAY -- Ontarians are expected on Thursday afternoon to get a better idea of the province's plan for exiting the current stay-at-home order.
Premier Doug Ford has called a media conference, at which he's promised to make an announcement about the province's reopening plan.
Health Minister Christine Elliott is on record stating Ontario will not return to the previous colour-coded framework, but instead will come up with a new plan.
Ontario has been under stay-at-home orders since April 7, though Thunder Bay was under Grey-Lockdown conditions for more than a month prior to that, as cases soared locally in March.
Dr. David Williams, who will join Ford and Elliott at the news conference, has said he'd like to see Ontario's daily case count dip below 1,000 before considering reopening. The province on Wednesday announced 1,588 cases, the second straight day the numbers have been below 2,000.
