Fort Frances gets $2.7 million from Northern Ontario Heritage Fund

FORT FRANCES, Ont. — Four projects in the Town of Fort Frances have received support from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation.

Northern Development Minister Greg Rickford, the MPP for Kenora-Rainy River, made the official announcement Monday.

The town will receive a total of $2.7 million.

Most of the funding – $1.7 million – is for renovations to the Memorial Sports Centre.

An extension to the Fort Frances Senior Centre will be supported with a $466,000 NOHFC contribution.

About $377,000 will go toward renovations at the Sorting Gap Marina docks, while $149,000 was approved for improvements at the Fort Frances Municipal Airport.
