FORT FRANCES, Ont. – Two Fort Frances residents face multiple charges after being stopped by OPP on Highway 611 early Friday morning.

According to police, officers with the Rainy River detachment were alerted to a possible impaired driver in Alberton Township, just west of Fort Frances, around 2 a.m. Friday.

The Treaty Three Police Service assisted in locating the vehicle, and the driver was arrested at the scene. Officers had reasonable grounds to believe the man was impaired by drugs, the OPP said in a release Sunday.

Police report seizing fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, and psilocybin, commonly known as magic mushrooms, during the investigation.

Both the driver and a passenger are now charged with several offenses.

Dylan Pattison, 27, has been charged with driving while impaired by drug, two counts of failing to comply with a release order, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

He also had his driver’s privileges suspended in Ontario for ninety days, while the vehicle involved was impounded for one week.

Pattison was held for bail “due to the repetitious nature of the offences,” police said. He has since been released with a virtual court appearance scheduled for Monday.

Alison Bragg, 31, who police identified as the passenger, has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance. She is scheduled for a virtual court appearance on April 6.
