Fort William Historical Park is celebrating the spooky season

Halloween Hoot continues on Sunday, with tickets available at FWHP.ca

THUNDER BAY – Halloween Hoot made its return to Fort William Historical Park on Saturday.

Thunder Bay residents made their way to the park on Saturday to take part in Halloween themed activities, that will continue from 12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

David Shepherd, interpretive specialist at Fort William Historical Park, said staff are proud to bring back the Halloween Hoot.

“It's an all ages, family-friendly event for everyone in the area to come and to explore here at Fort William Historical Park,” he said.

Shepherd said there will be many activities going on throughout the weekend.

“We have a lot of things spread out through all of our different buildings so you can interact with some of the historical people that were here.

“We also have trick or treat locations, we have a scavenger hunt and there is going to be a costume parade a little bit later today.

“We also have pump pumpkin carvers and there's also spooky buildings and scary buildings for those who are feeling a little bit more adventurous,” he said.

Shepherd said people can explore the grounds, do some crafting, and check out the farm, which is extra spooky.

Halloween Hoot hasn’t been held in a couple of years, he said, adding that the park wanted to really focus on a family-friendly event.

“This is a great time where it's still warm enough to get out and do things and people can be active.

“We're gearing up for Halloween, which is just right around the corner. We thought it would be great to have this environment where people can come in a safe environment to trick or treat and do some fun activities,” he said.

Tickets for Halloween Hoot are $12 for adults and $10 for students, seniors and youth. They can be purchased on FWHP.ca or can be purchased at the Visitor’s Centre right at Fort William Historical Park.
