Four arrested, including two Toronto teens, following suspected home takeover

Crack cocaine, oxycodone pills and cash were seized following an investigation Tuesday afternoon.

Four people were arrested Tuesday afternoon, including an 18-year-old and 16-year-old from Toronto, and charged with offences relating to drug trafficking activity. 

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of Ogden Street just before 3:20 p.m. following reports of a woman in possible medical distress. Paramedics with the Superior North EMS were also dispatched. 

When officers arrived at the home they observed people inside, and suspicious activity consistent with an ongoing home takeover situation. 

Further investigation revealed a home takeover had been occurring and the home was being used by unwanted individuals who reside in Toronto. Police learned the unwanted individuals were conducting suspected drug-trafficking related activities. 

As a result of their continued investigation, police located and seized a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, a quantity of oxycodone pills, and more than $5,000 CAD. 

Four suspects were arrested and transported to the Thunder Bay Police Service headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street. 

Kelly Jean CAMPBELL, 30, of Thunder Bay, is charged with: 

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking 
• Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking 
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 

Deon Darkwa, 18, of Toronto, is charged with: 

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking 
• Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking 
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 
• Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling 
• Breach of Recognizance 
• Resist Peace Officer 

Andrew Allan POST, 30, of Thunder Bay, is charged with: 

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking 
• Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking 
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 
• Failure to Comply with Release Order 

A 16-year-old female from Toronto is charged with: 

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking 
• Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking 
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 
• Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling 

The identity of the youth is being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act. 

All four accused appeared in bail court on Wednesday, Oct. 27 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
