THUNDER BAY — Four people, including two from southern Ontario, are in Thunder Bay Police custody as the result of an ongoing drug-trafficking investigation.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service's emergency task unit, assisted by the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and Nishnawbe Aski Police drug unit, executed search warrants late Tuesday afternoon at two residences in the 800 block of McLaughlin Street.
Two individuals in the premises were arrested without incident, but police said in a news release Wednesday that the other two put up a struggle.
A search of the homes turned up quantities of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, cash and paraphernalia consistent with trafficking.
A 27-year-old Toronto man, a 35-year-old man from Barrie, a 39-year-old man from Thunder Bay, and a 31-year-old Thunder Bay woman face various drug-related charges.
All four appeared in bail court Wednesday, and were remanded to the district jail with future court dates.
