Freezing rain warning issued for Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario

Ice accretions of 2mm to 6mm are possible.

THUNDER BAY — Driving conditions across much of Northwestern Ontario could become more hazardous Tuesday night into Wednesday afternoon.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Thunder Bay as well as for areas between White River and the Manitoba border, and as far north as Beardmore, Sioux Lookout and Red Lake.

Freezing rain is expected to begin Tuesday evening or overnight.

Ice accretions of 2 millimetre to 6 millimetre are possible, with the heaviest amounts occurring in communities near Lake Superior.
