THUNDER BAY – The calendar still says it’s summer, but Old Man Winter is trying to join the party a little early.

Environment Canada on Saturday issued a frost advisory for the city. According to the government weather agency, patchy frost is expected early in the morning, as temperatures dip close to the freezing point.

They advise residents to cover plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Fruit trees and vegetable plants are also potentially at risk.

The high for Saturday is expected to reach 17 C, while the low could drop to 2 C.
