OTTAWA -- Thunder Bay's Carter George was a perfect 12-for-12 on Thursday as he continues his bid to make Canada's national junior hockey team ahead of the World Junior Hockey Championship.
George stopped all 12 shots he faced from a team of USports all-stars, helping to lead Canada to a 5-2 win. George, who plays for the Ontario Hockey League's Owen Sound Attack, gave way to Carson Bjarnason at the 10:56 mark of the second period.
Bjarnason, a Philadelphia Flyers second-round pick, is in his fourth season with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League. He gave up two goals on eight shots.
UQTR's Conor Frenette and McGill's Mathieu Gagnon had the USports goals.
Brampton Steeleheads forward Carson Rehkopf, a second-round pick of the Seattle Kraken in 2023, scored three times for Team Canada.
The camp concludes this afternoon with a second scrimmage. The roster is expected to be finalized Friday evening.
Canada opens the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championship on Boxing Day in Ottawa.
