Gerrie scores twice, LU wins seventh straight

WATERLOO, ONT. – The Lakehead Thunderwolves are in seventh heaven.

Keighan Gerrie scored twice on Friday night to power the T-Wolves to a seventh straight OUA men’s hockey win, helping the visitors maintain the pace with the Windsor Lancers atop the Western Conference standings.

Joe Mack, Geoff Dempster, Tyler Ho and Griffen Fox, who had a goal and two helpers, also scored for Lakehead (13-5-2), winning their second of three road games in this weekend’s southern Ontario swing by a 6-2 count.  

Jacob Cascagnette and Dan Walker had the Warriors goals.

The Lancers downed the Brock Badgers 4-1 on Friday night.

Christian Cicigoi picked up the win in nets for the Thunderwolves, stopping 29 of 31 shots. Dan Murphy took the loss, making 18 saves on 24 shots

The Thunderwolves wrap up their road trip on Saturday against Laurier.
