Hackner improves to 5-0 at Canadian Masters

WINNIPEG — Al Hackner’s team continues to roll at the Canadian Men’s Master’s Curling Championship in Winnipeg.

Hackner, 68, scored one in the eighth on Wednesday morning to edge Gord Bell’s Saskatchewan foursome 5-4, improving to 5-0 at the event, being played at the Pembina Curling Club.

Hackner, Eric Harnden, Frank Morissette and Bruce Munro won the championship in 2017. The Canadian Masters Curling Championship is for curlers aged 60 and older.

Kenora’s Peggy Taylor is 1-2 on the women’s side and takes on British Columbia on Wednesday afternoon. Her team includes lead Jocelyn Degagne, second Jaqueline Ortlieb and third Tracy Stasiuk.

Next up for Hackner is the host team, skipped by Mark Franklin.
