THUNDER BAY – Their school may be shut down indefinitely, but their creative juices are still flowing as rapidly as ever.

Drama students at Hammarskjold High School have found ways to keep their imaginations alive, despite the COVID-19 shutdown.

Given an Instagram challenge by teachers Ben Daniar and Sharon De Leon, the teens passed the Getty Museum-inspired test with flying colours, recreating several of the facility's artworks using what they had on hand.

“People from all over the world have been posting their replications on Twitter and Instagram. It was inspiring to see the Hammarskjold students’ work and how creative they were,” De Leon said.

“Even though arts classes are currently online, they continue to be a lifeline for many students to stay engaged in school and connected to their peers. We remain committed to inspiring and helping the students during this time. Here is a collage of just a few of the works submitted.”

Other works can be seen on the Hammarskjold drama Instagram page.
