THUNDER BAY — Three people were sent to the hospital after a Thursday collision on Oliver Road.
Emergency services called to the head-on crash Thursday afternoon, which forced police to close the road to through traffic for a period of time between Belrose and Mapleward roads.
An eastbound car and a westbound truck collided and spun out of control, the Thunder Bay Police Service said in a Friday update.
Police said the impact was significant enough to launch the engine block out of the truck, landing on a nearby property.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue firefighters extricated three people from the vehicles, and they were then transported to the hospital.
None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening, according to police, however, all three remain in hospital.
