Health unit reports 12 new COVID-19 cases

Active case count rises to 49.

THUNDER BAY — The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay district has climbed for the eighth consecutive day.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported 12 new cases Thursday morning, bringing the active case count to 49.

Of the new cases, eight involved residents of Thunder Bay and surrounding communities, and four involved residents in First Nation communities.

Ten were attributed to close contact with a previously identified case, while two are listed as pending.

One case was resolved.

There are no active cases in hospital.
