THUNDER BAY -- The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has set a single-day high for COVID-19 cases.
The health unit on Monday announced 306 new cases -- 204 more than previous one-day high of 102, announced last week. The cases announced on Monday also include weekend totals.
The health unit also announced one more death, bringing the district's total to 71 since the pandemic began.
The latest numbers also include 298 resolved cases, which the health unit says is a reflection in the province's updated isolation rules, which require people who are fully vaccinated to isolate for just five days, providing they are without symptoms for 24 hours. The unvaccinated or partially vaccinated must still isolate for 10 full days.
There are now 387 known COVID-19 cases in the District of Thunder Bay. There have been 4,570 cases since the pandemic begn.
