THUNDER BAY – A rainfall warning has been issued for the Thunder Bay area, with between 20 millimetres and 40 millimetres of the wet stuff expected to fall during the spring storm.

Environment Canada says rain is expected to be heavy at times, beginning on Wednesday morning and continuing overnight.

Snow could fall at the latter end of the weather event and at times the rain may be mixed with ice pellets.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible, with heavy downpours capable of causing flash floods and water pooling on roads.
