ONTARIO – The province-wide LCBO strike has begun.
Retail stores across Ontario are now closed for two weeks unless the strike is resolved sooner. If the strike is still happening as of July 19, 30 stores would open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with limited hours until the strike ends.
The Beer Store is not impacted and neither are liquor convenience outlets, although it’s unclear how long they will continue to receive shipments.
According to the LCBO’s website, LCBO.com and the mobile app will continue to accept orders for free home delivery anywhere in Ontario for the duration of the strike.
“Recognizing the impact of a strike on distribution and operations, the LCBO will need to institute reasonable caps on products in store and online,” an LCBO news release said.
"While LCBO would ensure continued customer service, it would not be business as usual. We thank our customers in advance for their patience and understanding over the coming weeks."
